The Uncharted Waters of Smoothie

This is an illustration that I did for a children's story. Meaning, a class of local elementary school students wrote a story with their teacher, and scenes were divided up among our class to be illustrated. ^ ^ These are going to be published. I'm quite happy with how this turned out. There are things that could be better about it but I like it more than most of my work. Would help if it wasn't done between midnight and 3 AM of last night... Anyway, in my scene the main character (who's name I forget, but that's him) is skeptically drinking a healthy strawberry smoothie for the first time and winds up liking it. My teacher was encouraging us to create interesting non-literal images, so I painted him braving the sea of the unknown smoothie. XD

Annnd I'm just excited about anything I can put a lot of pink and purple in. XD
